Igår seglades säsongens 18:e kvällskör på Fjåset, MKS. Sydväst 2-5 och stråkigt gjorde banan svårseglad. Vi var åtminstone tre seglare som loggade racet med våra Garmin 305 ForeRunner-klockor. Vi håller på och tittar på ett sätt att lägga upp trackingen från flera båtar i samma kartbild. Det ska även finnas möjligheter att spela upp det live. Jag startade okej i lovart. Slog mig snabbt fri till babords halsar och investerade i högerkanten där jag tyckte det såg ut att dra bättre. Det gav utdelning. Såg bra ut, cirka topp 15 inför första rundningen. Men blev för het på gröten och fastnade helt med två slag som inget av dem nådde upp till märket. Tvingades ducka en mängd styrbordsbåtar. Syns väldigt tydligt om man zoomar lite på trackingen. Tappade mycket och kom aldrig riktigt igen. Fick nöja mig med en preliminär 41 av 58. Jag kunde inte vara med i onsdags då jag var rejält förkyld och i dessa influensa tider vågar man inte chansa…En fundering jag fick efter att ha läst om din första kryssrundning i onsdags är att jag upplever att det är svårt att hålla upp till märket när du är på layline vid just första rundningen(tycker jag).Alltså layline blir inte layline helt plötsligt… Detta är en ny erfarenhet som är jag funderar på beror på den stora mängden Lasrar som är på väg och runtom kryssmårket och som producerar skräpvind(min spekulation!).Som sagt-snillen spekulerar…..:-)/ petter

Hej Petter, hoppas du är på bättringsvägen. Jag tror precis som du. När vinden möter ett gäng båtar på layline för styrbords halsar vrider den motsols/vänster. Precis som vinden vrider runt ett segelplan, vrider den även runt en grupp båtar. Och detta vänstervrid är aldrig bra när man är längst ut på högerkanten. Problemet är väl att man blir så taggad på att runda tidigt så man glömmer bort detta varje gång, doh! Ett annat trick är ju att komma in ganska sent för babord men det medför som bekant andra problem.
