Efter en riktig kämpainsats seglade Ulf Brändström in på en 22:a plats av 50 startande seriebåtar i Pornichet Select. Imponerande, inte minst med tanke på att han krockade med en fisketrålare mitt i svarta natten. Läskigt!!! Som tur var blev det inga personskador. Ulf, som numera är kvalificerad för Mini Transat 2011, rapporterar kort på Vättern Shorthanded Sailing.

Som jag satt fast i deras trål efter kollisionen gjorde inte saken bättre. Spi/roder/köl samt rigg skadades rätt rejält i kontakten. Jag övervägde att skuta nödraketer mot dem till motattack men lugnade dock ned mig och skickade in en anmälan till de franska myndigheterna efter målgång istället. Det var definitivt lite monepython stuk över händelsen, speciellt med mig halvnaken och nedsmetad av fiskavfall uppe i deras trålkran för att få ur min rigg och medium spi . Som jag var nere i ruffen för att vila samt byta om vid händelsen var mitt klädval inte direkt passande när jag bordade fiskebåten, svärande på svenska iklädd boxers och stövlar klättrade jag omkring uppe i deras kran för att sedan lämna trålaren via min mast ..
6.50 segling i Frankrike är så annorlunda än vad jag i min vildaste fantasi kunde ana för två år sedan……
