I torsdags morse gick Thomas Ruyant ombord på Faber France i mål som segrare i prototypklassen i Mini Transat 2009. Ruyant seglade sträckan La Rochelle-Madeira-Brasilien på 24 dygn 23 timmar och 38.5 minuter. En snitthastighet på 7.12 knop är fruktansvärt imponerande ombord på en båt som är 6.5 meter lång. Och då har han dessutom passerat stiltjebältena runt ekvatorn. Bästa dygnsdistans blev 262 sjömil, en snittfart på 10.9 knop. Det måste vara en sjukt mäktig känsla att gå i mål som etta efter så många dygn till havs, barfota i sittbrunn! Vilka hjältar de är!
