Dragonfly byggs och designas av Quorning Boats i Danmark. Den första modellen var den smått legendariska Dragonfly 25 som 1985 vann det tuffa Round Britain Race på korrigerad tid. Nästa modell hette Dragonfly 26 och efter den kom 800 MK III som har fasta balkar i plast vilka sedan utvecklades till Swing Wing-systemet där man kan fälla in båda utriggarna. I och med SwingWing-systemet ändrades modellbeteckningen till Dragonfly 800 SW.
